Helixir Genomics was born from an idea conceived in 2022 in Australia, inspired by Dr. Adriano De Marinoâs passion for personalized medicine and scientific innovation, with a clear goal from the very beginning: to transform peopleâs health and well-being through genetics; officially founded in 2025, our company is dedicated to making cutting-edge genetic analyses accessible to everyone, as Dr. De Marino collaborates with Dr. Emiliana Pesce, an experienced nutritionist and longtime friend with whom he shared part of his studies in beautiful Naples; together, we place science at the service of people, offering innovative and personalized solutions to genuinely improve quality of life.
A brief preview of how we analyze your genetic data.
Extracted DNA is analyzed using a customized version of the Illumina Global Screening Array v3 (GSA v3). This technology, widely adopted in genetic research and precision medicine, detects ~700,000 genetic variants (SNPs) in a single run with >99 % sensitivity. The array is processed on the Illumina iScan system and the resulting data are converted to VCF/GTC format for downstream bioinformatic analysis. Interpretation & Report Generation The genetic data are then interpreted by the Helixir team through validated algorithms that integrate Polygenic Risk Scores and genetic imputation.
